What are the responsibilities and job description for the Boiler Operator position at Meadowlands Hospital Medical Center?
Duties:
Under limited supervision operates and maintains all equipment in the central utility plant, all mechanical rooms, and all utility systems in the hospital.
Be available to respond to problems in equipment and/or systems under the department's jurisdiction.
Responds to calls in the Hospital as needed.
Tests water daily
Performs daily rounds every few hours in mechanical rooms
Cleans up and removes garbage in boiler room
Operate and understand shutoff valves, for heat and air conditioning, read and log guages where required
Monitor temperatures in hospital on all floors adjust as needed to main comfort level
Report all emergency's to Chief Engineer. Then if needed contact facility supervisor
Report all information with date and time into log book
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Black Seal High Pressure Fireman in Charge Licensed by the State of New Jersey.
Minimum of 3 years of experience, preferably in a hospital
