What are the responsibilities and job description for the Event Planner/Sales Specialist position at Meadowlands Racing & Entertainment?
Job Description:
· Responsible for driving and securing new group sales business to support monthly sales goals.
· Maintain on-going business relationships with existing clients for annual bookings of events.
· Conduct short & long term planning of group events; manages entire process from client introduction through full execution. Assist with event set up, floor plans and décor as needed.
· Lead Manager present at all events for any group booked to assure details are seamlessly executed and client, along with their guests, have a great experience
· Work with food & beverage department on developing package deals for clients and providing best pricing options to clients which net the greatest profit.
· Provide client tours of the venue to showcase event spaces and address client questions
· On-going communication of events details and client needs to Meadowlands staff
· Help lead weekly reviews of events with senior management team
· Represent Meadowlands Racing & Entertainment at trade shows and Meadowlands Chamber events
· Attend at least 2 networking events/month.
Job Skills:
· Minimum 4 years experience in event management, sales and hospitality
· Strong social media skills – ability to networking and promote
· Knowledgeable and well connected to sports groups & college alumni associations, passion for sports a plus
· Service oriented style with professional presentations skills
· High energy, thrives in a fast pace working environment
· Entrepreneurial spirit with ability to improve the bottom line
· Effective in providing exceptional customer service
· Clear concise written and verbal communication skills
· Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and administrative skills
· Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Triple Seat Event Management System
