Barista/Cashier Opener

Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Barista with excellent customer service skills to join our team. We are a small, local business and pride ourselves on hospitality and the ability to build customer relationships. As a front-of-house employee, you will use menu knowledge and barista skills, as well as quick and personal service elevate the customer's experience. We offer an educational, dynamic, and enjoyable work environment with an established presence in the community. This position is compensated both hourly and tipped.

Hours We are looking for an opener (6:30am-1/2pm)

Responsibilities

• Preparing coffee beverages, pastry orders, food expo, and online orders.
• Excellent, warm customer service, greeting customers with a smile and providing them with answers to any questions they have.
• Register duties including customer transactions, menu modifications to reflect sold out or new items, and nightly close-out.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café area, including workstations and dining spaces.
• Assist in inventory management by monitoring stock levels and notifying management when supplies are low.
• Establish relationship with customers in order to best suggest new menu items or modifications based on past orders.
• Demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively, ensuring that side work and stocking is done throughout the day and busy hours can run smoothly.

Skills

• Strong sales skills with the ability to upsell products effectively.
• Excellent customer service skills to create positive interactions with patrons.
• Effective time management abilities to prioritize tasks during busy periods.
• 3 years experience in food service or the food industry is required (Barista experience preferred).
• Ability to keep composed, multitask, and work as a unit with other employees during a rush.
• Hard-working attitude and strong problem solving skills.
