Division Support of Meadowood Mission:
Property Services contributes to the mission through customer satisfaction as we provide a safe, well maintained, and comfortable environment including infrastructure, estate landscape, and structures that provide the setting for extraordinary guest experience that exceeds expectation, in the preservation of the assets as we preserve and protect all physical assets by pro-actively maintaining and enhancing the estate landscape and facilities through quality maintenance, repair and renovation, and by enhancing the guest experience as we ensure the proper operation of structures, equipment, systems, and landscape which enable administration, operations and guest service personnel to successfully execute their mission.
Position Summary
This position contributes to the mission through quality painting maintenance ensuring the presentation, appearance, and protection of the facility is consistent with established quality standards necessary to maintain the facility in an optimum and efficient condition.
Major Responsibilities and Work Activities
- Maintains the facilities interior or exterior surfaces of buildings and other structures, equipment, furnishings, fixtures and furniture including the repair, preparation and application of paint, varnish, stain, enamel, or lacquer to decorate and protect those surfaces.
- Reviews, acknowledges and reports on work orders or received instructions from supervisor regarding painting and related work.
- Erects scaffolding or sets up ladders to perform tasks above ground level.
- Smooth’s surfaces and removes old paint from surfaces, fills nail holes, cracks, and joints, with caulk, putty, plaster, or other fillers to prepare surfaces for painting.
- Selects premixed paints, or mixes required portions of pigment, oil, thinning and drying agent to prepare paint that matches specification.
- Spreads drop cloths over floors and room furnishings, and covers surfaces such as baseboards, door frames, and windows with masking tape and paper, and takes whatever measures necessary to protect surfaces and adjacent areas, buildings, or vehicles during painting.
- Washes surfaces prior to painting with mildew remover as appropriate.
- Paints surfaces with brushes, spray gun or paint rollers.
- Monitors inventory of parts and supplies to efficiently paint all facilities, related equipment and machinery.
- Requisitions and orders parts, upon approval, to maintain appropriate materials.
- Takes reasonable measures to ensure the work area is safe and hazard free and ensures all painting materials are handled in accordance with applicable safety and environment standards, rules and regulations.
- Assists in other grounds, landscaping, or maintenance activities as needed.
- Responds to actively participate in emergency preparation and procedures.

Experience Required
- One to three years commercial painting experience preferred.
- Recognizes and conforms to standard painting principles and practices.
- Able to operate and recognize proper operation and results of all painting equipment, materials, and systems.
Education
- High school graduate
- Required: California driver’s license.
Special Skills/Abilities
- Use hand tools including but not limited to a shovel, ladder, scaffolding, wheel barrow, painting and carpentry tools.
- Use motorized tools including but not limited to a carts, back pack blower, compressor, steam cleaner.
Communication Skills
- Good communication skills in English.
Interpersonal Skills
- Ability to maintain cooperative working relationship with other employees, guests and members
Mathematical Skills
- Basic math needed to calculate area and dilution formulas.
Reasoning Ability
- Able to use common sense and logic to resolve basic trouble shooting tasks or recognize and correct problems related to painting and refinishing.
- Able to take into consideration the needs of the customer and adjust schedules, tasks or assignments accordingly.
Physical Demands
- This is a physically demanding and high energy job.
- Required to lift and carry 50 lbs.
- Walk up and down ramps and stairs.
Working Conditions
- Work outdoors in inclement weather.
- Around the clock coverage when needed to fulfill responsibilities and respond to emergency.
