Position Summary
The Strategic Account Executive for Behavioral Health is responsible for managing, growing relationships with Consultants, Employers, Payers, Point Solutions, and Key accounts in the behavioral health sector. This role requires a deep understanding of the industry, exceptional sales and relationship-building skills, and the ability to sell strategic solutions tailored to client needs. The sales executive will work closely with clients, internal teams, and external stakeholders to drive revenue growth and support the organization’s mission to improve access and outcomes in behavioral health care.

Position Summary
The Strategic Account Executive for Behavioral Health is responsible for managing, growing relationships with Consultants, Employers, Payers, Point Solutions, and Key accounts in the behavioral health sector. This role requires a deep understanding of the industry, exceptional sales and relationship-building skills, and the ability to sell strategic solutions tailored to client needs. The sales executive will work closely with clients, internal teams, and external stakeholders to drive revenue growth and support the organization’s mission to improve access and outcomes in behavioral health care.
Sales:
- Deep understanding of the payor and consultant market, partnership process and decision making
- Develop and Implement sales strategies to achieve sales targets with a focus on strategic partnerships
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, senior executives (C-suite) and industry leaders
- Establish and sustain strong partnerships with brokers, consultant, employers, payors and point solutions
- Deliver compelling presentations both in-person and virtually to employers, brokers, consultants, and industry events to promote MBH solutions.
- Follow-up on prospect meetings and successfully negotiate with prospects and associated brokers, consultants, employers and point solutions
- Facilitate client transition to Implementation and Account Services post-sales
- Provide marketplace intelligence on product and service needs
- Participate in community, business, and industry organizations as appropriate heir associated brokers, consultants, payors, employers, point solutions
- Work with the Client Success Manager to ensure a seamless implementation
- Responsible for completing Request for Information or Request for Proposals to obtain new clients
- Lead contract negotiations, ensuring mutually beneficial outcomes
- Conduct regular business reviews to assess client satisfaction and identify areas for improvement.
- Responsible for client reporting, preparing and presenting quarterly executive summary reports

- Develop and implement strategic account plans to achieve revenue growth and retention goals.
- Identify opportunities to expand services and solutions within existing accounts.
- Collaborate with marketing and product teams to align offerings with client needs.
- Stay informed about trends, regulations, and challenges in the behavioral health industry.
- Provide thought leadership and insights to clients on best practices, innovative solutions, and emerging technologies.
Education, Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Proven experience as a sales consultant, account executive or in a similar role, preferably within the behavioral health or healthcare industry.
- Strong understanding of the behavioral health landscape, including payer and provider dynamics.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and grow large, complex accounts.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strategic thinking with the ability to analyze data and develop actionable plans.
- Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Client-focused mindset with a passion for improving behavioral health outcomes.
- Strong consultative selling skills, problem-solving and adaptive thinking
