Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care while assisting the dentist with various procedures. Duties
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow.
- Prepare and maintain the treatment room, including sterilization of instruments and equipment.
- Manage patient records and medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Perform basic dental procedures such as taking X-rays, impressions, and applying fluoride treatments.
- Provide education to patients regarding oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
- Schedule appointments and manage patient flow within the office using Dentrix or similar systems.
- Support pediatric dentistry by creating a comfortable environment for young patients.
- Assist in endodontic procedures as needed, ensuring all materials are prepared and available.
- Maintain inventory of dental supplies and assist in ordering when necessary.
Experience
- Previous experience as a Dental Assistant is preferred but not required; we welcome enthusiastic candidates willing to learn.
- Familiarity with medical coding and documentation is advantageous.
- Knowledge of general dentistry practices is essential; experience in pediatric dentistry or endodontics is a plus.
- Proficiency in using dental software systems such as Dentrix will be beneficial.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are crucial for maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with regulations.
