Position Summary
As the Director of Admissions, you will coordinate all activities associated with the admissions of a prospective patient. Coach and monitor Intake staff in all areas related to the Intake Department, including but not limited to: inquiry calls, scheduling intake screenings, providing orientation to patients and family members to the facility. Maintains daily, weekly and monthly record keeping in relation to census, admission and discharges. Schedule staff in order to provide adequate coverage at all times. Responsible for conversion rate of intake calls to admissions.
Essential Duties Include:
- Services as a member of the Leadership Team.
- Provides leadership, management and coaching to staff to provide best-in-class services in the areas of patient admissions.
- Supervises call activities to ensure prompt and courteous answering of calls, consistent and appropriate follow up calling, and appropriate resources delivered for non-viable calls.
- Coordinates with appropriate staff on daily basis to schedule admits Notifies appropriate staff of pending admissions
- Prepare and maintain daily census report Consults with Financial Coordinator to determine financial options for incoming patients
- Trains, coaches and monitors Intake staff to ensure knowledge in receiving and recording inquiry calls; responding appropriately to all requests for information; process for referring callers that do not fit program criteria to other sources; conducting pre-admit screening; collection of pertinent patient demographic and insurance information.
- Ability to converse with others in English to give, take and process information, extensive use of telephone.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of information, multi-task, coordinate projects and record/transcribe general and specific meeting minutes.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Communicate with other staff in relaying concerns and observations involving patient safety.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma Required. Bachelors Degree preferred.
- Previous experience with admissions in a behavioral health setting.
