Job Summary
Coordinates all activities associated with the admissions of a prospective patient. Coach and monitor Admission staff in all areas related to the Admission Department, including but not limited to: inquiry calls, scheduling intake screenings, providing orientation to patients and family members to the facility. Responsible for conversion rate of admission calls to admissions.
Responsibilities:
- Provides coaching to staff to provide best-in-class services in the areas of patient admissions.
- Supervises call activities to ensure prompt and courteous answering of calls, consistent and appropriate follow up calling, and appropriate resources delivered for non-viable calls.
- Coordinates with appropriate staff on daily basis to schedule admits, notifies appropriate staff of pending admissions with high level of detail and accuracy.
- Trains, coaches, and monitors Admission staff to ensure knowledge in receiving and recording inquiry calls; responding appropriately to all requests for information; process for referring callers that do not fit program criteria to other sources; conducting pre-admit screening; collection of pertinent patient demographic and insurance information.
- Consults with Financial Coordinator to determine financial options for incoming patients
Education, Skills and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in a behavioral health or related field; Masters degree preferred.
- At least five (5) years of experience in a behavioral health setting.
- Must have valid drivers license and proof of insurance.
- Must maintain CPR and First Aid certifications.
- Listen to and understand information and ideas presented through verbal and written words and sentences.
- Communicate information and ideas verbally and written so others will understand.
- Apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.
- Combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions; including finding a relationship among seemingly unrelated events.
- Identify/recognize when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong and know who to involve for resolution.
- Generate various ideas about a given topic.
