What are the responsibilities and job description for the Wound Care Nurse position at Meadowview Rehabilitation and Nursing Center?
The Wound Nurse is an integral part the care team that helps change the lives of our patients and residents each day. As a Wound Nurse you are responsible for providing a full range of nursing care in an interdisciplinary environment including:
· Wound management interventions, protocols, policy and procedure.
· Collect and report data relating to Wound Management – hospital acquired, in house acquired, stages, etc.
· Round with physicians, ADON and Unit Managers to assess and document wound healing/progression and plan of care.
· Provide education to the nursing staff to provide compliance with Wound Management.
· Ensures physicians orders are carried out accurately and timely.
· Mentor new licensed staff during initial orientation period, providing coaching and discipline when necessary.
· Familiarize self with State and Federal Regulations to be a resource person for training purposes.
Required qualifications:
- Graduate of approved Registered Nurse (R.N.) Program.
- Previous experience as a Wound Nurse in an acute care/long term care setting is desirable.
- Current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Pennsylvania.
- Wound Care Certified Certification is desirable, but not required.
