Job Summary
At Meadowview Veterinary Urgent Care, we are dedicated to providing exceptional, compassionate emergency care to animals in need. As part of our emergency care team, you will have the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and contribute to the well-being of animals in critical conditions. This position requires someone with a strong understanding of animal care, empathy, and the ability to handle emotionally challenging circumstances with sensitivity and care.

Responsibilities

  • Greet clients and their pets with warmth and professionalism as they arrive at the clinic.
  • Ensure the clinic is clean, organized, and welcoming for clients and their pets.
  • Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries regarding services, medications, and pet health.
  • Maintain accurate patient records, ensuring all information is up-to-date and confidential.
  • Process payments and handle billing inquiries with accuracy.
  • Assist veterinary staff with basic tasks as needed, including medication administration and laboratory work.
  • Monitor the health and vitals of critically ill or injured animals, including temperature, pulse, and respiration.
  • Assist with patient restraint, including during procedures and exams.
  • Ensure euthanasia is conducted in a humane and compassionate manner, following established protocols and standards.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a veterinary clinic or animal care setting is preferred.
  • Licensed Veterinary Technician preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of animal anatomy and basic veterinary terminology is prefered.
  • Familiarity with medication administration protocols and aseptic techniques is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with clients and staff.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, as well as stand for extended periods.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with a team and communicate empathetically.
