Job Summary
At Meadowview Veterinary Urgent Care, we are dedicated to providing exceptional, compassionate emergency care to animals in need. This position requires someone with a strong understanding of animal care, empathy, and the ability to handle emotionally challenging circumstances with sensitivity and care.
Responsibilities
- Greet clients and their pets with warmth and professionalism as they arrive at the clinic.
- Ensure the clinic is clean, organized, and welcoming for clients and their pets.
- Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries regarding services, medications, and pet health.
- Maintain accurate patient records, ensuring all information is up-to-date and confidential.
- Process payments and handle billing inquiries with accuracy.
- Assist veterinary staff with basic tasks as needed, including medication administration and laboratory work.
- Monitor the health and vitals of critically ill or injured animals, including temperature, pulse, and respiration.
- Assist with patient restraint, including during procedures and exams.
- Ensure euthanasia is conducted in a humane and compassionate manner, following established protocols and standards.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a veterinary clinic or animal care setting is preferred.
- Licensed Veterinary Technician preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of animal anatomy and basic veterinary terminology is prefered.
- Familiarity with medication administration protocols and aseptic techniques is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with clients and staff.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, as well as stand for extended periods.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with a team and communicate empathetically.
