What are the responsibilities and job description for the FINANCIAL AIDE OFFICER position at MEADVILLE MEDICAL CENTER?
- Meet with provisionally accepted student to ensure that FAFSA is completed
- Complete and conduct entrance financial counseling with the student
- Support the student (and parents if applicable) in completing loan/grant applications
- Support the student (and parents if applicable) in completing Master Promissory Notes
- Verifies and originates state and federal loans and grants
- Works with the admission committee of each program to determine what general education courses the student need to take and develops the Cost of Attendance (COA) worksheet
- Calculates annual award year financial aid and documents reviews with student and completes annual award year close-out reports for Penn and Direct loans
- Maintains highly organized financial files for each student
- Completes 1098T forms for the RN and LPN programs annually in February
- Meticulously records and tracks all student tuition received by cash, check or Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) and notifies the director of program (RN or LPN) of outstanding balances each semester
- Processes and records all student over-awards in a timely manner
- Maintains National Student Loan Data Systems (NSDLS) reports and the National Student Clearinghouse monthly reports
- Completes Veteran's Affairs (VA) certification and maintains compliance for students
- Completes Office of Vocational Rehabilitation (OVR) paperwork and maintains compliance for applicable students
- Completes exit counseling with students before graduation to reduce the program default rate
- Is the Primary Destination Point for the DOE Federal Student Aid (Appropriate school director is the secondary) and participates in the annual EZ audit due by June 30 annually
- Completes the spring and fall integrated Post-secondary Education Data System (IPEDS) reports and the annual security report
- Completes annual PHEAA, AES, and VA Audits
- Attends Faculty Organization, Advisory Board and Admission meetings of the Practical Nursing and Registered Nursing programs
- Annually attends live or web-based training and updates from the Department of Education (DOE), PHEAA and other identified contributing agencies
- Performs other duties as assigned
Education
Required- Bachelors or better in Accounting or related field
