What are the responsibilities and job description for the MANAGER OF UTILIZATION MANAGEMENT position at Meadville Medical Center?
Job Summary
- Report directly to VP, Revenue Cycle Services
- Schedule staff accordingly
- Approve all timecards for the UM department
- Maintain UM Policies
- Supervise team members in duties and performance
- Motivate, guide, and mentor team members to exceed goals and creates positive environment.
- Manage workflow
- May have to cover the department when staff is short
- Participate with the hiring process and evaluations.
- Due to the ever-changing environment in UM, communicate directly and transparently
- Manage the workflow for clinical support as needed
- Coordinate reports for the UM steering committee meeting
- Compile reports for CFO and medical director
- Audit charts for the CFO and medical director
- Work with IT on updates for care manager
- Audit work flow
- Provide constructive feedback and recognition to all staff and report to VP, Revenue Cycle
- Review charts for LOS and addresses issue
MINIMUM EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
Proof of successful completion of education requirements for board certified registered nurse as defined by the state in which the employee is to practice as well as proof of such licensure in good standing.
Ability to read analyze and interpret documents, reports, technical procedures, governmental regulations and correspondence
BLS required.
Work experience in UM and CDI is required.
Certification for UM nurse and CDI specialists is encouraged
