Paralegal - Family Practice

Meagher Geer, P.L.L.P. has an opportunity for a Paralegal in our downtown Minneapolis office. Our ideal candidate will have experience in family law and general litigation. Duties include information gathering, subpoena, discovery responses, case management, client communication, and other related legal functions. The ability to work within scheduling constraints is critical, including handling multiple priorities and working under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities:

· Draft legal correspondence, documents, pleadings, and discovery.

· Maintain and manage spreadsheets and timelines while managing new developments and deadlines in multiple cases.

· Prepare, organize, and retrieve case files, including evidence, exhibits, depositions, pleadings, and exhibits.

· Assist attorney with trial preparation, which may include attending trials and hearings.

· Develop and maintain billable hours for individual cases.

· Communicate with attorneys, clients, and support staff.

· Manage and prioritize projects to meet various deadlines.

· Assist in trial preparation of expert material, depositions, exhibits, and documents.

· Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

2 – 7 years of work experience as a Paralegal in a law firm. A paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program and/or 2 or 4-year degree is required.

· Strong computer skills using Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Preference for technical skills using litigation technology systems (iManage/Work 10, Titan File, and Aderant)

· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

· Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

· Ability to work with deadlines and stressful situations.
