Position Summary
Meals on Wheels Durham (MOWD) seeks a full-time Client Services Coordinator who will be primarily responsible for serving as the first point of contact for clients, family members, and social workers. This role will be integral in processing client enrollments and discharges, maintaining service continuity, and resolving client issues.
The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented, self-motivated individual who utilizes social work, program management, and customer service experience to enhance service delivery for the older adults we serve. The successful candidate will have the ability to handle a high volume of data management and client calls with patience and warmth, while maintaining required administrative responsibilities associated with this position. Additionally, this individual will work closely with the Volunteer Service Coordinator to ensure program efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Client Engagement/ Customer Service
- Conduct phone intakes, screenings, and assessments.
- Enroll and track clients across multiple funding streams.
- Regularly communicate with clients, Department of Social Services (DSS), and/or external community agencies regarding client concerns and documentation requests.
- Effectively manage requests from clients or partner agencies to ensure proper resolutions.
Program Administration & Management
- In conjunction with DSS, accurately maintain client waitlist.
- Ensure accurate and consistent documentation in accordance to funder requirements.
- Prepare daily and/or weekly meal orders, including route preparation.
- Provide support for seasonal and special programming which will require additional coordination.
- In partnership with Director of Operations, evaluate and assess program outcomes.
- Maintain current and organized client files via hard-copies and/or computer-based file storage systems.
- Prepare reports and data analysis as requested.

Full-time employees will be eligible to receive medical, dental, and vision benefits Full-time employees are also eligible for PTO as well as enroll in our 403b retirement plan which provides a 3% employer contribution based on your annual salary.
The hiring range for this position is $40,000 to $48,000.
Qualifications & Skills
- Affinity for serving older adults in the Durham community.
- A heart for, experience working in, and understanding of the non-profit industry preferred. Familiarity with Meals on Wheels programs or nonprofit organizations preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university or 1-2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficiency in utilizing work productivity software platforms (i.e. Google Suite, Ninety.io and the demonstrated ability to learn and utilize proprietary software.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management abilities.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Work Environment & Schedule
While there may be opportunities for remote work, this is primarily an in-office employment opportunity. Most assignments are completed Monday thru Friday during normal operating office hours. There may be occasional work assignments that fall outside of these parameters.
