Location: Anaheim, CA
Hours: Part Time/ Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 1:00 PM (25 hours per week)
Hourly Range: $16.50 - $18.00 per hour (Hourly rate will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and experience)
JOB SUMMARY: This position is responsible for oversight of the Home Delivered Meal Program based out of a specific site. Responsibilities include receiving meals, packing meals according to route assignment, greeting volunteer drivers, managing volunteer schedules, delivering meals in personal vehicles, recruiting and training volunteers, maintaining records and submitting reports, and performing other job-related tasks as appropriate.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for ordering, receiving, and packaging home delivered meals.
- Assists with recruiting, training, and monitoring volunteer delivery drivers.
- Loads and delivers meals to participants in an assigned geographic area daily in a timely and safe manner. All perishable food must be maintained at 40°F or lower temperature at all times. Packs coolers with adequate amounts of ice.
- Interacts with participants during delivery and reports client-specific problems to the Supervisor or appropriate Case Manager. Reports any client related problems of emergency nature to Supervisor and completes APS reports when needed as required as a Mandated Reporter.
- Contact clients directly as needed to inquire about holds or missed meals, coordinate delivery or meal changes, follow up on assessments, or other tasks as directed by the Manager of Case Management.
- Maintains and updates delivery directions and specific delivery instructions.
- Takes food temperatures and maintains temperature control charts. Documents and reports on all missed meals.
- Maintains safe food handling procedures
- Ensure that coolers are cleaned up and stored appropriately at the end of each day.
- In the event of a volunteer call-out or no-show, coordinates coverage of the route either through contacting additional volunteers, partnering with Case Management staff, or delivering the meals in a personal vehicle.
- Practices safe operating procedures and observes all safety regulations and precautions as prescribed by Community SeniorServ. Operates vehicle in a safe and lawful manner. Provides a safe work environment by communicating problems and suggestions for safe operation.
- Maintain records and information, submit daily communication forms and prepare accurate and timely reports related to meal delivery, volunteer hours and if required, vehicle maintenance.
- Responsible for the proper handling of meal donations according to Community SeniorServ policy guidelines.
- Attend staff meetings and training sessions as required. Performs other duties and assignments related to this job as deemed necessary and appropriate.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent comparable work experience preferred.
- Some experience supervising and directing staff and volunteers (volunteer work included).
- Must be able to work well with volunteers, staff, and clients of all ages.
- Be able to read, interpret, and implement regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Must be able to maintain complex department records.
- Clear communication skills, both verbal and in writing, required.
- Must have own transportation (if required), valid California Driver's License and auto insurance as required by state law.
- Must pass post-offer physical.
- ServSafe or Food Handlers certification within 90 days of employment as determined by management.
