What are the responsibilities and job description for the Psychologist (Master's or Doctoral) position at Meaningful Change: Clinical & Consultation...?
Job Overview
Meaningful Change: Clinical & Consultation Psychology is an integrated mental health practice that provides psychotherapy, psychiatry, assessment, and counseling services, to the greater Central Michigan area. We are excited to add a psychologist (master's or doctoral level) to our treatment team.
Candidates will be expected to provide psychotherapy and assessment services across a broad spectrum of mental health disorders. The ideal candidate for this position is someone that is not only seeking a career in the private practice setting, but a treatment provider who appreciates routine consultation with a team of professionals, enjoys collegiate consultation, and appreciates direct supervision.
Candidates may begin as part-time, or full-time employees, and will have an opportunity to negotiate their treatment interests, specialties, and target population(s) prior to formalizing employment.
Preferred Skills:
While providers are expected to be competent and skilled in their respective therapies, strong candidates will have excellent expressive language, have the capacity to work independently while seeking supervision when needed, possess strong organizational skills, and share an honest desire to treat mental illness. Strong skills in formal psychological assessment would be an asset.
Required Education & Licensure:
A master's degree in clinical or counseling psychology and commensurate licensure (LLP or LP) is mandatory for the position. Independent licensure is strongly preferred, though exceptional candidates seeking post-degree supervision may be considered. Licensure must be in the State of Michigan. Doctorate holding candidates are encouraged to apply, though a PhD/PsyD is not required for the position.
Application Process:
1. Applications should include a curriculum vitae (or resumé).
2. A cover letter that includes a statement of interest is strongly encouraged (but not required).
3. A letter of reference is encouraged, though not required. Please include such details on the CV/resumé.
4. An in-person interview will be required for all qualified candidates, and a second interview may be suggested as a collegiate meeting.
5. All new employees (including contractual staff) will have a supervisory period to assess competencies, fit, and for the purpose of third-party credentialing.
Compensation:
Candidates will be offered competitive hourly pay based on competencies, experience, and hours served. Advertised income range is based on 1250 client hours per year. Details of compensation will be finalized during the interview and on-boarding process. Full-time employees will enjoy a health/vision/dental insruance package as well as a IRA with employer match.
Closing Remarks:
This is a great opportunity for someone looking to become an indispensable part of a small and ambitious treatment team as we grow together. If you are a motivated individual who is serious about excellence in clinical work, we will be eager to hear from you.
