We are looking for a junior construction estimator for the Oil & Gas Facilities industry. This role is responsible for the timely and accurate development of bids and proposals to manage and construct oil & gas facilities, such as pipelines from 4” to 36”, launcher/receivers, regulator & meter stations, compressor stations, gas processing facilities, and VRU installations. The Junior estimator should have some practical field knowledge and be ready to gain hands-on experience. The estimator also should have strong communication and organizational skills.

Essential Duties
- Build and submit estimates (a.k.a. bids) and proposals:
- Review RFP packages provided by the client
- Review work requirements with local operations management
- Research and define cost elements related to project construction including labor, equipment, materials and subcontractors
- Perform takeoffs and develop RFQ’s for subcontractors and material suppliers
- Assist with identifying risks and planning contingencies
- Assist with preparing written proposal outlining clarifications, exceptions and assumptions
- Assist with presenting estimate management for final determination and risk assessment
- Assist with submitting approved final bid to client on time
- Attend customer scheduled pre-bid meetings:
- Notate essential topics of discussion at the meeting
- Attain a thorough understanding of the scope of work including desired construction methods, project timelines and customer expectations
- Ask project related questions and record customer response
- Visit job location to assess site conditions and assess constructability
- Project management and post-award follow-up:
- Provide job related documentation to field operations, project management staff and administrative staff as needed
- Participate in contract pre-planning meetings
- Assist in preparing and submitting project/contract deliverables to the client as required by the contract and InfraSource internal requirements
- Maintain files as back-up for estimate figures
Key Qualifications
- A four-year degree or equivalent experience preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management or engineering preferred
- Experience with B2W or Heavy Bid preferred
- Experience with MS Office Applications: MS Word, MS Excel, MS Power Point
- Proficient in Technical Writing/Correspondence
- Ability to work independently on assigned tasks with minimum guidance
- Able to build and maintain client relationships
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- The physical activity for this role includes:
- Travel as needed for site visits and client meetings
- Manual dexterity, typing, computer and small equipment use
- Standing, walking, and sitting for long periods
- Site visits in a range of weather conditions, including hot and cold weather
- Pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
