Position Overview:
We are seeking a self-motivated salesperson to join our meat trading team. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, stay ahead of market trends, and work closely with both customers and suppliers, as well as the Meat Commodities Team. In this role, you will manage a diverse range of products — including beef, pork, chicken, and turkey — and collaborate with customers to develop creative, strategic solutions that meet their business needs. Success in this position requires strong negotiation skills, excellent relationship management, the ability to work as a part of a team, and the ability to track market conditions to guide daily buying and selling decisions. You’ll be joining an experienced group of traders with over 200 years of combined industry expertise, offering mentorship and support as you grow.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage relationships with customers nationwide, providing exceptional service and fostering strong partnerships.
- Negotiate pricing on both the buy and sell sides of transactions.
- Track market trends and fluctuations to make data-driven trading decisions.
- Consult with customers to offer creative, strategic solutions that align with their needs and business goals.
- Ability to cold call and generate new leads for customers across the country.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities and potential partnerships within the meat industry.
- Work within a team environment to help both you and the entire team succeed
- Monitor inventory levels, ensuring timely and cost-effective transactions and deliveries.
- Stay informed on global and domestic market trends, pricing fluctuations, and supply-demand dynamics.
- Assist in the collection of payments from customers
