MEC Inc. is looking to hire the most experienced workforce in the environmental remediation and demolition industries, to serve a wide variety of federal and state clients.
Our services include asbestos abatement, lead paint abatement, underground storage tank removal, hazardous waste clean-up, transportation and disposal, tank / pit cleaning, emergency response and industrial cleaning services.
MEC Inc. has set itself above others in the industry by providing quality services, exceeding environmental and occupational regulations and working together with our clients to achieve higher than expected outcomes.
Our primary customers include federal military installations such as the Air Force, Army, Navy, Marines and as well as state agencies, including the University of California (UCLA, UCSB, UCI).
Most of our project sites are performed inside military installations or university campuses.
We are currently looking for highly experienced abatement workers for long-term projects located in the following areas :
Santa Barbara
Santa Maria / Lompoc
Paso Robles

Asbestos / Lead Abatement Worker
Job Requirements :
Must live in the surrounding areas listed above. We are specifically seeking to fill permanent and full-time positions for these locations.
Only apply, if you are willing to relocate.
Be in possession of current asbestos & lead abatement worker certifications. (If you do not have certifications but have laborer experience equivalent to roofing duties, willingness to be certified is a must)
Be able to communicate effectively with field supervisors, safety managers, estimators, and project managers to ensure that projects are completed in a timely fashion.
Pass training / testing for specific certifications.
Be medically fit to wear a respirator and personal protective equipment.
Performs various maintenance tasks.
Successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen, background check, E-Verification and physical exam.
Must be able to travel to worksites.
Must be able to pass background investigation for access to military installations.
Only serious applicants that meet the employment criteria listed above should apply. Our contracts are military and institutional based.
A background check is REQUIRED. Please DO NOT apply if you cannot pass a background check as you will not be allowed into the military installations that we are based out of.
Pay : $50-$55 per hour (average pay, depending on location and type of work performed).
