The Quality and Engineering Manager provides strategic leadership for MEC’s Quality and Engineering functions. This position will initiate continuous improvement in processes and procedures, assign projects, and provide direction and support to the staff. As a senior leader, the Director of Quality Engineering Manager is responsible for the development of a strong team that thrives in a dynamic and and fast-paced environment.

Education and/or Experience and Certifications and Licenses
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four year college or university in technical quality area; seven years related experience and/or training in
quality control practices; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Possess or willingness to obtain ASQ Quality Engineer Certification and ISO/TS registration as a Lead Auditor.

Responsibilities
- Work with internal and external customers regarding quality assurance and quality planning of new and existing products.
- Develop detailed control plans that cover parts from raw material receipt to shipment of finished goods.
- SPC - Perform, facilitate and teach various methods of SPC to ensure processes are controlled, i.e. capability studies, control charts, etc.
- Communication - Ability to clearly communicate and work with customers, vendors and associates to ensure products meet the
- Understand and explain to others detailed customer specifications, blueprints or drawings
- Clearly communicate both orally and in writing. Prepare correspondence to customers, develop policies, procedures and work instructions.
- Collect data, prepare quality reports and communicate the results to the organization
- Metrology - Effectively measure and analyze parts using a variety of different metrology tools.
- Gauge R & R – Ability to conduct and analyze gauge R & R studies.
- Corrective and Preventative Action – Perform a structured problem-solving process to quickly analyze and correct problems. Review quality data on a regular basis to ensure the system is effective in meeting customer requirements.
- Teamwork - Work effectively on teams and with teams to continuously improve quality of products and processes
- APQP Comprehension. To Include Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA) - Perform, facilitate and teach the FMEA process
- Ensure completion and timely delivery of all quality related documentation per customer requirements to include PPAP submission.
- Assist in the development, implementation and maintenance of the corporate quality system in compliance with ISO/TS and other recognized quality standards. Act in auditor capacity for purposes of internal audit.
- Develop and maintain an effective cost of quality program to reduce costs while improving quality.
- Leadership - Perform the above tasks without constant supervision or guidance, display great leadership skills, and develop employees.
