What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electrical Prefab Assembler position at MEC Technologies, Inc.?
The Pre-fab Assembler position with MEC involves learning to safely assemble various electrical components in a climate-controlled shop. The Pre-Fab Assembler will work directly with the Director of Prefabrication to gain knowledge and skills necessary to become efficient at building different components for our various types of projects.
Responsibilities:
1. Measure, cut, and bend wire and conduit, using measuring instruments and hand tools.
2. Learn to splice wires and make connections; put together in-wall box assemblies
3. Bend Pipe
4. Understand power, lighting & equipment wiring
5. Prepare lighting and wires for installation
6. Stage equipment & prepare for shipment
7. Wire panel board according to specifications
8. Following direction
9. Learn from experienced electricians.
Essential Functions:
1. Must be hard working and able to work in a fast-paced environment
2. Ability to follow directions and multi-task.
3. Ability to work in a team environment and independently based on task.
4. Has reliable transportation to the prefab shop
5. Have all necessary hand tools
6. Must be detail oriented and analytical
Minimum Requirements:
1. High School Diploma, GED or Equivalency
2. At least 18 years or older. If younger, must be able to provide work permit
3. Minimum of one year electrical experience preferred
Physical Requirements:
1. Able to stand for long periods of time
2. Able to crouch, crawl, squat and kneel
3. Able to climb up and down ladders
4. Able to lift, push, carry and move up to 50 pounds
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $19.00 per hour
