What are the responsibilities and job description for the Construction Superintendent position at Meca Construction Co., Inc?
The Superintendent’s responsibility is to supervise the field construction of a project and to complete the Work on schedule, within the budget and to the quality of workmanship specified. A hands-on player with leadership abilities.
Minimum 5 years of construction experience. Restaurant commercial construction a strong plus. Able to read and understand blueprints a must.
Have a thorough and complete knowledge and understanding of the General Contract, each Subcontractor, the contract drawings, specifications and addenda, and assist the Project Manager in the development of the on-site procedures.
Assist the Project Manager in the development and refinement of the Project Schedule, work with the Project Manager to keep the schedules properly updated, and see that the job meets the various required dates. Determine needed resources (manpower, equipment and materials) from start to finish with attention to budgetary limitations.
Verify that each Subcontractor has completed their contractual requirements as condition precedent to beginning his work at the jobsite.
Must be detail-oriented and have strong demonstrable organizational and time management skills
Punctuality is a must.
Ability to take on multiple responsibilities and adequately multitask, provide daily written job reports.
Capable of positive teamwork and ethical attitude
Good knowledge of MS Office and Excel.
Able to work days and nights. Valid ID or Texas Driver's License with own transportation. No Felonies
