MECA Therapies LLC is looking for a Doula to join our professional team.
The Doula is responsible for providing emotional, physical, and informational support to clients and their families throughout the prenatal, birth, and postpartum periods. The Doula will act as an advocate for clients, ensuring they feel empowered and informed to make decisions about their care. Additionally, the Doula will collaborate with healthcare providers and community resources to support clients in achieving a positive prenatal, birth, and postnatal experience.

Education and Licensure: Certification as a Doula from a recognized training program and Certification as a Community Health Worker
General Requirements:
- Two (2) years of experience in maternal health, childbirth education, or a related field preferred.
- Proven ability to provide compassionate and nonjudgmental support to diverse populations.
- Knowledge of childbirth practices, comfort measures, and postpartum care.
- Familiarity with local maternal health resources and community services.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within healthcare teams and maintain professional boundaries
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
The Doula will operate within Local, State and Federal Regulations as well as adhere to all MECA policies and procedures. Essential duties include but are not limited to the following:
- Providing continuous emotional, physical, and informational support during labor and delivery.
- Conducting prenatal visits to build rapport, discuss birth plans, and provide education on childbirth and postpartum care.
- Assisting clients with comfort measures during labor, including breathing techniques, positioning, and massage.
- Acting as an advocate to ensure clients’ preferences and needs are respected by the medical team.
- Offering postpartum support, including breastfeeding guidance and newborn care education.
- Identifying and connecting clients with local maternal health resources and support groups.
- Maintaining accurate and timely documentation of client interactions and support provided.
- Participating in on-call rotations to ensure availability for clients during labor and delivery.
- Facilitating educational workshops or group sessions on maternal health topics.
- Reporting concerns of abuse, neglect, or other safety issues to the appropriate authorities.
CASELOAD ASSIGNMENTS
The Doula will be assigned members from the maternity health program.
- Doula will be considered full-time at 25 billable hours per week.
PRODUCTIVITY
- Attending 100% of scheduled prenatal and postpartum visits for assigned clients.
- Being present for 100% of labor and delivery events for on-call clients.
DOCUMENTATION
The Doula will accurately collect data on persons served and will ensure that the information is accurate and filed in a timely manner by adhering to the following:
- Documenting all client interactions and support provided.
- Ensuring timely entry of data into the designated platform or client files.
STAFF DEVELOPMENT AND TRAINING
The Doula will provide the necessary support, training, and guidance in their provision of services to the clients and consumers served. The Doula must also comply with all mandatory trainings identified by MCO as well trainings mandated by their respective supervisor(s) and/or company by adhering to the following:
- Attending mandatory staff meetings and training sessions.
- Participating in reflective supervision and peer support groups.
SUPERVISION
All Doulas, including sub-contractors must receive reflective supervision.
