Core Mechanical, Inc. has a wide variety of clients, including various governmental agencies, municipalities, and public and private school districts. We are in search of a dynamic individual as an HVAC estimator.
Job Summary
The HVAC estimator will attend walk-throughs and pre-bid meetings, perform take-offs on plans and blueprints, and identify subcontractors, labor, and materials needed to prepare bids.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Preparing and managing bids for government projects.
- Take-offs and estimation of equipment, labor and materials.
- Experience in obtaining and evaluating material, equipment and subcontractor quotes.
- Managing multiple bids simultaneously and evaluating changes through the bid processess.
- Attend walk-throughs and pre-bid meetings.
Required Skills/Abilities
- Assist in gathering project information, including blueprints, specifications, and other relevant documentation.
- Coordinating labor and equipment with superintendents, job site foreman & clients.
- Critical thinker with strong attention to detail; ability to understand and translate plans and designs to varied levels of audiences.
- Quickly adjust to a changing environment and handle multiple tasks and priorities under time constraints.
- Highly skilled in reading and understanding drawings, specifications, and bid documents.
- Ability to accurately compile a timely summary of materials, equipment, and labor to prepare for bids.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Experience
- At least 12 years in the mechanical/HVAC industry.
- Experience with governmental work.
- Experience in working with architects and mechanical engineers.
- A strong background and knowledge of HVAC systems and associated equipment, including chillers, piping systems, pumps, ductwork, dampers, AHU’s and RTU’s.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift to 15 pounds at times.
- The ability to climb ladders, walk on roofs, and access crawl spaces.

Salary & Benefits
· $95,000 - $105,000/year
