The San Antonio Service Center is seeking an experienced Vacuum Furnace Technician for 2nd Shift. The Vacuum Furnace Technician is an integral part of the production team. As a Vacuum Furnace Technician you will be performing heat treatment of gas turbine components per AMS 2750 & MCL F40 specifications. You would be responsible in maintaining a strict quality & TPM system to ensure accuracy of equipment, maximum equipment up-time, and 100% metallurgical traceability requirements.
Duties & Responsibilities include but are not limited to, the following:
- Undergo Vacuum Furnace Technician training and pass required testing requirements.
- Understand AMS 2750 and MCL F40 Specifications.
- Understand heat treatment theory.
- Verify, schedule, and ensure that all Total Preventative Maintenance is completed on time.
- Perform System Accuracy Tests and Temperature Uniformity Surveys.
- Process heat treatment of various gas turbine components through different types of vacuum furnace runs.
- Maintain strict quality requirements on documentation.
- Embrace a pride of ownership mentality towards all tasks that are assigned to you.
- Assist other work areas, as needed, to meet company goals & requirements.
- Work with Engineering to identify and resolve any issues that arise.
- Support EH&S, Cost Reduction, and Process Improvement activities and initiatives.
- High School diploma or GED; 2 years of experience is a plus but not required.
- Basic knowledge of vacuum furnace systems is a plus but not required.
- Familiar with Microsoft Office Applications (Outlook, Excel); good oral and written communication skills.
- Familiar with power generation equipment overhaul processes and techniques.
- Strong work ethic that includes a Can-Do attitude 100% of the time.
- Willingness to grow and learn to become a key individual within the vacuum furnace area team.
