We are seeking a Materials Handler for our Hammond, LA facility. The responsibilities of a Materials Handler at MECO will include:
- Loading and unloading trucks both manually and with pallet jacks and/or forklifts
- Verifying received items against orders to insure accuracy
- Accurately label and place stock in designated locations
- Picking required parts for delivery to the manufacturing units.
- Perform all duties in a safe manner and according to establish procedures
The ideal candidate must meet the following minimum qualifications:
- HS diploma or GED
- Two or more years of experience working in an industrial storeroom
- Prior experience in receiving, picking and material movement
- Must be eligible to be certified to drive a fork-lift
- Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, which include ability to left up to 50 lbs and work in extreme temperatures.
