Key Responsibilities
Master Electrician Duties:
- Oversee and manage the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems in commercial and industrial projects.
- Ensure all electrical work complies with national and local electrical codes, safety standards, and project specifications.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to electricians and apprentices on-site.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex electrical issues during project execution.
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure quality control and adherence to project timelines.
- Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for electrical components of MEP projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor services.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to understand project scope and requirements.
- Review blueprints, specifications, and other project documents to identify electrical work requirements.
- Research and analyze historical data, vendor pricing, and market trends to ensure competitive bidding.
- Present cost estimates and proposals to internal and external stakeholders, ensuring clarity and alignment with project goals.
- Licensure: Active Master Electrician license in the state of Texas (required).
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial or industrial electrical work, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or estimator role.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications or degrees in electrical engineering or construction management are a plus.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical blueprints, schematics, and specifications.
- Strong knowledge of electrical codes, safety standards, and industry best practices.
- Proficiency in estimation software (e.g., Accubid, ConEst, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
