MSD is looking for a Drain Technician to join our team!
The Drain Technician specializes in eliminating problems with clients drains and associated plumbing needs. The Drain Technician is proficient in operations of specialized tools and equipment and implements creative solutions. The Drain Technician supports the total quality effort by identifying and responding to the needs of internal and external customers 100% of the time.
Key Job Duties
- Diagnose and repair drainage problems at client locations.
- Complete all required documentation, including work order logs, daily activity reports, etc.
- Communicate with key client personnel to develop understanding of, and solution to, drainage problems/concerns.
- Coordinate with internal team members to facilitate movement between client locations.
- Operate specialized equipment, such as jetters, snakes, etc., necessary to resolve client concerns
- Use video equipment to develop action plans to return client to full operational capability.
- Document all time, materials, labor, etc., in accordance with company policies and directives.
- Conduct on-site inspections to confirm completion of work.
- Update knowledge and procedures to reflect current best practices.
- Ensure all activities are performed in accordance with all applicable local, state, and federal guidelines, policies, and procedures
- Maintain all required licenses via attending trainings, workshops, etc.
- Maintain availability for on-call operations as scheduled.
- Make every reasonable effort to ensure safe practices and get every employee home safely.

- 5 years experience as a full-time drain cleaner
- State of Ohio Backflow certification
- Completion of a state certified plumbing apprenticeship program preferred
- Ability to comprehend complex written instructions, correspondence, memos, blueprints, technical drawings, manuals, etc.
- Able to clearly communicate in written and verbal English
- Knowledge and skills necessary to operate specialized equipment
- Knowledge of all aspects of Service plumbing
- Unencumbered US Drivers license
- US Citizenship or Permanent Resident Status required
