Summary/Objective
The Accounting Supervisor position is responsible for overseeing the accounting department, ensuring the accurate and timely collection and processing of the organization's receipts payments, credit policy administration, and processing of accounts payable.
Essential Functions

- Direct and oversee the accounts receivable staff associated with the timely receipt and accounting of funds being paid to the organization.
- Establish and maintain customer credit limits. Timely communicate any changes in the customer credit status to the sales team.
- Review accounts receivable ageing reports to ensure customers are adhering to established terms.
- Monitor customer backlog and order releases. Effectively uses credit hold process to ensure timely customer payment.
- Manages accounts payable by processing invoices, reconciling accounts and issuing timely payments to vendors.
- Ensure compliance with all financial procedures of the organization
- Process daily transactional activities as well as serve as backup when staff members are out of the office.
- Manage monthly and yearly cutoffs by ensuring all transactions are posted in the correct accounting period.
- Preparation of daily, weekly, monthly reports.
- Reconciliation of various general ledger accounts as assigned.
- Provide supporting documentation for financial statements and audits.
- Assist with ad hoc tasks as assigned.

Physical Demands
Strength Guideline: The employee must frequently lift or move up to 10 pounds, occasional lift or move up to 25 pounds and rarely lift or move up to 50 pounds.
Motion Parameters: The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
Vision and Hearing: The employee is required to talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, at times can be high.
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelors degree from a four-year college or university plus four to five years supervisory related experience
- Ability to multi-task
- Ability to research and resolve accounts payable and receivable issues.
- Proficient in Excel.
