Real Property Director
Position Summary
Direct activities within the Real Property division, This position, is considered a high-level specialist who regularly interacts and works with senior management and reports to the County Assessor.
Essential Functions
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum of eight years of progressively responsible commercial and residential appraisal experience;
including two years of supervisory experience
Education
Bachelor's degree in a related field
Combination of relevant education and relevant experience accepted?: Yes
Licenses and Certifications
Knowledge of
resources
and own organization's position to contribute to effective business strategies and tactics
Skills
correspondence, memoranda, reports and other documents
long-range goal or vision after developing alternatives based on logical assumptions, facts,

Real Property Director
Position Summary
Direct activities within the Real Property division, This position, is considered a high-level specialist who regularly interacts and works with senior management and reports to the County Assessor.
Essential Functions
- Review residential and commercial real estate appraisals for accuracy and compliance with
- Review completed appraisals to ensure that properties are valued appropriately and that
- Establish quality standards governing the appraisal process
- Provide oversight and direction for implementation of programs/services
- Manage strategic planning initiatives
- Coordinate within the department across divisions
- Represent the division County-wide and to the Board of County Commissioners
- Take on legislative initiatives
- Interprets policies
- Serves as a liaison, both internally and externally
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum of eight years of progressively responsible commercial and residential appraisal experience;
including two years of supervisory experience
Education
Bachelor's degree in a related field
Combination of relevant education and relevant experience accepted?: Yes
Licenses and Certifications
- Requires a valid North Carolina or South Carolina Driver’s License
- Requires County Driving Privileges
- NC Dept. of Revenue as a County Real Property Appraiser
- Completion of IAAO Course 102 or equivalent required
- Master's Degree in a related field
- IAAO designation such as the CAE, RES, or AAS
- Mass Appraisal experience
Knowledge of
- Business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human
resources
- Principles and processes for providing customer services; this includes customer needs
- The structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words,
- Laws, legal codes, court procedures, precedents, government regulations, and agency rules, and
- Expertise in Real Property
- Business Acumen: Using economic, financial, market and industry data to understand and
and own organization's position to contribute to effective business strategies and tactics
