Position: Field Service Technician
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform thorough quality checks on machines to ensure proper functionality and standards.
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain machines both on-site at customer locations (domestic and international) and in-house within our sorting area.
- Provide training to customers on proper machine operation and maintenance procedures.
- Install machines at customer sites, ensuring proper setup and functionality (domestic and international).
- Maintain detailed and organized service documentation, including field service reports, expenses, and other relevant records.
- Collaborate with the sales department by conducting application studies to support customer needs and sales efforts.
Additional Lab Responsibilities:
- Assemble PCs, instruments, and install necessary software.
- Build and assemble laser components for machine vision applications.
- Design and install lighting systems tailored for machine vision.
- Develop and assemble light controllers to meet technical specifications.
- Fabricate various cables for machine integration and testing.
- Wind and build Eddy current coils for specific use cases.
- Conduct functional testing on built items to verify performance and quality.
- Repair instruments and laser components as needed to ensure optimal functionality.
- Provide remote troubleshooting support and maintain communication with customers via phone, email, and video calls (domestic and international).
- Package and ship spare parts and repaired components in a timely manner.
- Ensure all job-related paperwork is accurately maintained, including in-house reports and shipping documentation.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment in compliance with safety standards.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
- Proficient in identifying electrical components and using basic hand tools.
- Hands-on soldering experience.
- Knowledge and practical experience with volt-ohm meters (VOMs); experience with oscilloscopes is a plus.
- Solid mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot electrical circuits and mechanical systems.
- Proficient in PC usage (Basic Windows, Word, Excel, data input). Experience with OS and software installation is a plus.
- Comfortable working with PC/electronic hardware and software.
- PC builder experience is a plus.
Experience:
- 2 to 4 years of relevant field service experience.
- An associate degree or equivalent technical education is a plus.
Compensation:
- Pay ranges from $19 to $25 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
