Position Summary
Responsible for collecting, transporting, and distributing items from one department to another including distribution across all Med Center Health entities. Follows departmental policy and procedures to efficiently distribute items such as interoffice mail, packages, equipment, medical records, and Laboratory and Pathology specimens. Prepares and delivers US Mail and distributes Fed Ex and UPS packages from a centralized warehouse.
Minimum Qualifications
Work Experience
Previous distribution or mail processing experience preferred.
Education
High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
Certifications/Licensure
Motor vehicle record check required and will be performed annually.
Valid Driver's License required.
Job Specific Performance Standards
The duties listed below are a summary of the major essential functions of this position. The position may require other duties, both major and minor, that are not mentioned, and specific functions may change from time to time.
Collects, sorts, transports, and distributes items from one department to another including distribution across all Med Center Health entities. Follows departmental policy and procedures to efficiently distribute items such as interoffice mail, packages, equipment, medical records, and Laboratory and Pathology specimens. Maintains records of collections and deliveries in accordance to department procedure.
Uses the automated mail processing machine to prepare US Mail and bulk mailings. Follows the United States Postal Regulations to prepare for mailing. Determines and applies appropriate postage amounts, sorts bulk mailings, folds and inserts letters, and completes appropriate paperwork. Properly prepares certified mail.
Delivers US Mail to Post Office, picks up box and bulk US Mail from Post Office, and distributes Fed Ex and UPS packages from a centralized warehouse. Ensures security of mail.
Inspects U.S. and interoffice mail for inaccurate or incomplete addresses, suspicious materials and provides education to employees as needed. Follows proper procedures when suspicious items are encountered.
Answers and logs telephone requests and dispatches to appropriate personnel. Responds to emergency/stat deliveries as needed.
Operates company vehicle and adheres to driving laws and regulations and assures safe operation of vehicle. Conducts general maintenance checks on company vehicle. Reports maintenance issues. Maintains record of maintenance checks.
