Position Summary
The Director of Patient Safety and Clinical Research serves as Med Center Health’s Patient Safety Officer and strategic leader of its patient safety and clinical research programs, including oversight and direction of all strategies, initiatives, and policies across the healthcare system. Coordinates efforts with senior leadership, clinical leaders, and frontline staff to improve patient safety and ensure that programs and processes provide high quality, safe, and effective care to Med Center Health’s patients. Works collaboratively across the system for the purpose of implementing effective, reliable care practices, measurably improving patient safety, and developing an appropriate patient safety culture. Participates in educating leadership and staff, conducting research activities, and collaborating on special initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications
- Four years of clinical experience required.
- Previous experience leading Patient Safety initiatives, Quality Management, clinical research, or a related specialty preferred.
- Master’s degree in Nursing required.
- Kentucky RN licensure or RN license in a State recognized by the Kentucky Nurse Licensure Compact Act.
- Certified Clinical Research Coordinator required within 1 year of hire or placement.
