By maintaining an organized front desk environment, the receptionist contributes to a positive patient experience and enhances the overall efficiency of the office. Responsibilities:
- Follow opening and closing procedures.
- Greet patients/parents politely and promptly; provide instructions and inform nursing staff of arrivals.
- Enter and update patient demographics in the computer system.
- Obtain and verify insurance information; collect co-pays and balances.
- Review forms for accuracy; apply billing codes and schedule return appointments at check out.
- Prove out daily receipts and complete deposit slips.
- File charts and maintain a clean waiting area.
- Work Saturdays based on rotation schedule.
- Attend regular staff meetings.
- Adhere to Med First’s employee handbook and HIPAA guidelines.
- Maintain strict confidentiality.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1 or more years' experience in a medical receptionist role
- understanding of medical terminology
- Proficiency in using office equipment and basic computer software.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in medical office administration or a related field.
- Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Bilingual skills are a plus.
