About the Role:
MedFirst Primary & Urgent Care is seeking a Medical Assistant/Front Desk person to join our Sneads Ferry Team Part-Time (25 hours a week). The Medical Assistant/Front Desk position is crucial for ensuring the smooth operation of our healthcare facility. This role combines clinical and administrative responsibilities, allowing for a comprehensive approach to patient care and office management. The primary end result of this position is to enhance patient satisfaction by providing efficient service and support to both patients and healthcare providers. The Medical Assistant will be responsible for managing patient flow, assisting with medical procedures, and maintaining accurate patient records. Ultimately, this role contributes to the overall mission of delivering high-quality healthcare in a welcoming environment.

Responsibilities:
- Follow opening and closing procedures.
- Greet patients/parents politely and promptly; provide instructions and inform nursing staff of arrivals.
- Enter and update patient demographics in the computer system.
- Obtain and verify insurance information; collect co-pays and balances.
- Review forms for accuracy; apply billing codes and schedule return appointments at check out.
- Prove out daily receipts and complete deposit slips.
- File charts and maintain a clean waiting area.
- Work Saturdays based on rotation schedule.
- Attend regular staff meetings.
- Adhere to Med First’s employee handbook and HIPAA guidelines.
- Maintain strict confidentiality.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 1 or more years of medical reception experience
- Completion of a medical assistant training program or equivalent experience.
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology and office procedures.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA).
- Experience in a healthcare setting, particularly in a front desk or administrative role.
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Knowledge of insurance verification and billing processes.
