Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Biller to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the billing process for medical services, ensuring accuracy in coding and compliance with healthcare regulations. The Medical Biller will play a crucial role in maintaining financial records and facilitating timely payments from insurance companies and patients.
Responsibilities
- Accurately prepare and submit medical billing claims to insurance companies using ICD-10, ICD-9, and DRG coding systems.
- Review patient records to ensure all necessary information is included for billing purposes.
- Review and process medical claims
- Verify insurance coverage and patient information
- Follow up on unpaid claims and denials
- Follow up on outstanding claims and work with insurance companies to resolve any discrepancies or denials.
- Maintain organized medical records and documentation in compliance with regulations.
- Communicate effectively with patients regarding their accounts, including billing inquiries and payment plans.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure proper coding of services rendered.
- Stay updated on changes in medical billing regulations, coding practices, and insurance policies.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in medical billing, coding, or a related field is preferred.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and understanding of medical records management.
- Proficient in using medical billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Knowledge of ICD-10, ICD-9, DRG coding, and medical collection processes.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance representatives.
- Certification in Medical Billing or Coding is a plus but not required.
