What are the responsibilities and job description for the Physician Assistant (PA-C) or Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C) position at Medallus Medical Urgent Care?
Position Summary:The Nurse Practitioner (NP) at Medallus Medical Clinic plays a critical role in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care across urgent care, primary care, and wellness settings. The NP works both independently and in collaboration with the clinical team to assess, diagnose, and treat patients while promoting evidence-based practices and exceptional service.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and physical exams across all age groups
- Diagnose and treat acute illnesses, infections, injuries, and chronic conditions
- Prescribe medications and develop individualized treatment plans
- Perform procedures such as laceration repair, abscess drainage, IV therapy, and injections
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests (labs, imaging, etc.)
- Deliver GLP-1 weight loss consultations and injectable medication protocols
- Educate patients on preventive care, lifestyle, and follow-up plans
- Document all visits in the EMR promptly and accurately
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and support staff for optimal patient outcomes
- Uphold HIPAA compliance, safety protocols, and clinic policies
Required Qualifications:
- Current North Dakota FNP license and board certification (AANP or ANCC)
- DEA license and current BLS certification
- Minimum 1–2 years of clinical experience preferred (new graduates considered)
- Strong diagnostic and interpersonal communication skills
- Comfort with fast-paced, patient-centered environments
Qualifications:
- Master’s or Doctorate in Nursing (MSN/DNP)
- Current Nurse Practitioner licensure in North Dakota
- National board certification (FNP or AGNP preferred)
- BLS/ACLS certified
- Strong clinical judgment and ability to work independently
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Education: All providers must meet one of the following:
A. Medical Doctor or Doctor of Osteopathy
B. Nurse Practitioner with a Master’s Degree (NP) or Doctorate in Nursing (DNP) or Physician Assistant (PA/PA-C) with a Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS), Health Sciences (MHS) or Medical Science (MMSc). Those who have been working in the medical field prior to these requirements will be grand-fathered in.
Certificates and Licenses:
A. All Providers must be board certified in their selected field and maintain board certification during their employment.
B. All Providers must be current in Basic Life Support (BCLS) .
C. All Providers must have current non-restricted state licenses to practice in their field.
D. All Providers must maintain a current DEA License, malpractice coverage and eligible for insurance credentialing.

The associate must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the provider is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The provider is frequently required to sit, stand and walk.
