What are the responsibilities and job description for the Intake Coordinator position at Medassist USA?
Position Overview:
As an Intake Coordinator, you will have duties ranging from verification of insurance, calling patients to explain MedAssist services, and answering any questions they may have. You will assist patients with scheduling appointments for an initial visit with one of our on staff doctors. This candidate must be personable, compassionate, and respectful of sensitive medical information. This candidate will also be highly motivated to meet company metrics and KPIs. This position reports to the Intake Dept. Manager.
General Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):
- Ensure superb customer service with all calls to prospective patients, their family members, caregivers, etc. - meet each patient at the other end of the phone line with enthusiasm, warmth, and patience.
- Record all patient statuses and information in a detailed manner in the patient’s electronic health record.
- Schedule appointments for initial visits with medical staff, ensuring all patients attend the visits and if not, calling to reschedule.
- Works well under pressure, can multi-task, is adaptable to heavy call volume and quick problem-solving.
- Detail-oriented, seeing patients’ appointments get met throughout the entire procurement process including logistics to ensure customer satisfaction. Outstanding communication with patients from beginning to end.
- Must be able to be flexible and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Meet key performance metrics set forth by the Intake Dept. Manager, such as daily call volume, sign up rate, completed visits, etc.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Medical/health service experience (highly preferred).

This position’s pay structure includes commission.
