What are the responsibilities and job description for the Patient Service Representative - Doctors Community Hospital - Hybrid Position position at Medbridge Healthcare?
MedBridge Healthcare is a leading provider of sleep laboratory management services and sleep therapy. We partner with hospitals and physician practices to offer comprehensive fully-integrated services for patient identification, testing, diagnosis, treatment and long-term care management of patients with sleep disorders.
This is NOT A REMOTE role, it's a hybrid position for Patient Services Representative - Position is required to go into the office in Lanham, MD 20706 2-3 days a week
DOE - Pay starts at $20.
Responsibilities will include:
- Answering calls on a constant basis
- Performing patient intake and scheduling tasks
- Obtaining patient demographic information and insurance details
- Accurately-entering demographic and insurance data into Electronic Medical Records system
- Answering patient questions, inquiries, and concerns regarding accounts
- Assisting with screening calls and taking messages
- Completing insurance verifications and authorizations for studies in a timely and accurate manner
- Ensuring insurance coverage meets necessary requirements for scheduled services
- Communicating with referral sources to obtain additional information needed for scheduling and/or to update on patient scheduling statuses
- Performing other duties as required or assigned
Job Requirements:
- High school diploma required; some college preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in customer service, data entry, and insurance verification
- Excellent customer service
- Experience with Epic
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Ability to multi-task between several projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to recognize information types and direct information to appropriate healthcare providers
- Ability to work within a team environment
- Adequate computer skills
- Ability to stand, walk, sit, talk, and hear
- Close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and focus adjustment abilities
- Use of hands to operate office equipment
Work Location:
- Hybrid - will work 2-3 days at Doctors Community
