Job Summary
The EEG Technician will be responsible for conducting electroencephalogram (EEG) tests to assist in the diagnosis of neurological disorders. This role involves working closely with healthcare professionals to provide accurate test results.
Duties
- Perform EEG tests on patients in various settings, including emergency medicine, Level I and Level II Trauma Centers
- Conduct diagnostic evaluations to assess brain activity and detect abnormalities
- Utilize anatomy and physiology knowledge to accurately place electrodes on the patient's scalp
- Monitor vital signs during EEG procedures to ensure patient safety and comfort
- Provide care and support to patients undergoing EEG testing
- Maintain equipment cleanliness and functionality
- Use medical terminology effectively to communicate findings with healthcare providers
- Collaborate with other medical staff, such as CT technicians, to coordinate patient care
Experience
- Previous experience as an EEG Technician or similar role preferred
- Proficiency in conducting EEG tests and interpreting results
- Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and neurological functions
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare environment
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
Facility requirements:
Minimum 2 years experience required.
Active BLS required.
Active CA License required.
