Position Summary :
Our Client is seeking a Behavioral Health RN. RN Behavioral Health refers to Registered Nurses specializing in mental health and psychiatric care. These nurses work with individuals dealing with mental health conditions, including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and other psychiatric disorders. They assess patients' needs, create care plans, administer medications, provide therapeutic interventions, and offer emotional support. Behavioral health RNs may work in hospitals, outpatient clinics, residential treatment centers, or community mental health programs. Their role is essential in promoting emotional and psychological well-being and supporting recovery in individuals facing mental health challenges.
Key Responsibilities :
- Assessing Mental Health : Conducting initial and ongoing assessments of patients' mental health status.
- Creating Care Plans : Developing personalized care plans based on patient needs and conditions.
- Administering Medication : Managing and administering psychiatric medications while monitoring for side effects.
- Providing Therapy : Offering individual or group therapy sessions and emotional support.
- Monitoring Patient Progress : Observing patients' behaviors, moods, and responses to treatment.
- Crisis Intervention : Responding to psychiatric emergencies, including suicide risk or violent behavior.
- Collaborating with Healthcare Team : Working closely with psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and other professionals to coordinate care.
- Educating Patients and Families : Teach patients and their families coping strategies, medication adherence, and mental health education.
- Advocating for Patients : Supporting patients’ rights and ensuring they receive the best possible care.
Required Qualifications :
Active, unrestricted certification / licensure as an RN in Connecticut State.
Certifications Required :
ACLS, BLS REQUIRED
