Position at MedExpress Job Summary: The Radiologic Technologist (X-ray technologist, X-ray tech) performs all radiology services and basic nursing duties as assigned in Brookhaven. They ensure patient well-being and provide a positive environment while working with physicians, advanced practice clinicians, front office and clinical staff.

Job Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Graduate of an approved Radiologic Technology program required

Work Experience

• Experience in a clinical setting preferred

Required Licenses/Certifications

• BLS required at the time of hire (obtained through the American Red Cross or American Heart Association)
• ARRT registration required
• Applicable state licensure as a Radiologic Technologist required

Primary Responsibilities

• Complete provider orders per state and provider regulations
• Perform accurate X-rays as ordered by the provider, practicing radiation safety precautions including ALARA
• Prepare and transmit images to the radiologist for over-read, and report over-read results to providers
• Retrieve and archive radiographic reports
• Create/Burn CDs in compliance with HIPAA regulations
• Perform detailed and accurate data collection during clinical intake of patients, including vital signs and patient history
• Assist patients as needed with walking, transfer, specimen collection, exam prep, etc.
• Complete occupational health testing, including urine drug screens, breath alcohol testing, hair testing, and physicals
• Complete patient referrals and callbacks daily
• Properly document EMR and paper-based documentation for assessments and procedures
• Other basic nursing duties as assigned, including new models of care and procedures
