Job Summary:
The Urgent Care Provider is responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals seeking immediate medical attention for non-emergency conditions. This role involves assessing, diagnosing, treating, and managing patients with acute illnesses, injuries, and conditions. Providers will work within a collaborative team environment to ensure efficient patient care. In addition, providers have the opportunity to meet several bonus structures based on performance metrics, including patient satisfaction, productivity, and quality care initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Assessment: Conduct thorough patient evaluations, including taking medical histories, performing physical exams, and ordering necessary diagnostic tests.
- Diagnosis and Treatment: Diagnose a wide range of acute conditions, including minor injuries, infections, respiratory issues, allergic reactions, and other non-life-threatening medical conditions. Administer appropriate treatments, prescribe medications, and provide follow-up care as needed.
- Collaboration: Work closely with medical assistants, nurses, radiologic technologists, and other healthcare providers to deliver efficient patient care.
- Procedures: Perform minor in-office procedures such as wound suturing, splinting, casting, laceration repair, and foreign body removal.
- Patient Education: Provide clear, understandable instructions on post-care, medication management, and prevention of future health issues.
- Emergency Care: Recognize and appropriately manage urgent conditions, including stabilizing patients and coordinating transfers to emergency care when necessary.
- Electronic Health Record (EHR) Management: Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, ensuring compliance with privacy and regulatory requirements.
- Quality Assurance: Follow best practices and protocols to maintain high-quality care, ensuring patient safety and satisfaction.
- Team Support: Assist in training and mentoring less experienced medical staff as needed.
