Medfield Public Schools is seeking a dynamic and compassionate School Nurse Leader to join our dedicated team. The School Nurse Leader will play a vital role in ensuring the health and well-being of our students, providing comprehensive school health services, and collaborating with school staff, families, and community partners to create a healthy and supportive learning environment. This job consists of 0.6 as a school nurse and 0.4 as the school nurse leader. Key Responsibilities: Student Health Care: Conduct comprehensive health assessments for students.Administer medications and provide emergency care.Manage chronic health conditions (e.g., asthma, diabetes, allergies).Provide health education and counseling to students, staff, and families.Coordinate and implement health screenings (e.g., vision, hearing, scoliosis).Manage communicable disease outbreaks and ensure compliance with state regulations.Coordinate flu vaccine clinics for staff.School Health Programs: Develop and implement school health policies, procedures and protocols.Coordinate, supervise and evaluate the work of district school nurses.Oversee the school health offices and ensure adequate resources.Promote a healthy school environment through initiatives such as illness/injury education and prevention and mental health awareness.Collaborate with school staff, families, and community partners to address student health needs.Data Management and Reporting: Maintain accurate student health records.Collect and analyze health data to identify trends and inform program planning.Prepare reports for school administration, the Department of Public Health, and other stakeholders.Manage the MA DPH state grant: Comprehensive School Health Services grant while active.
