OBJECTIVE
The Energy Sales Specialist is a highly driven, customer service oriented individual seeking to maintain and grow our refined fuels and propane business. The primary focus will be direct sales of refined fuels, lubricants, greases, and propane to residential, commercial and agricultural end users. All duties will be performed in a manner that will help achieve the Medford Cooperative’s mission and goals.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Greet everyone with a friendly attitude and serve our customers in an efficient manner
- Foster a positive culture and ensure clear, transparent communications.
- Execute plans to achieve sales goals and increase profitability while growing the business.
- Evaluate current customer programs and seek opportunities to further meet customer needs.
- Facilitate positive relationships with suppliers and customers to create long-term repeat business.
- Interface for cross selling and cross business sales opportunities through other divisions in the organization.
- Prepare sales presentations, contracts, bids and proposals to ensure successful outcome of transactions.
- Coordinate & prioritize deliveries to key customers as needed.
- Track and identify market conditions, competitor pricing and service, and customer needs. Use this information to build goals, strategies, and action plans to increase profitable sales.
- Maintain spreadsheets to provide real time results reporting.
- Perform other duties as otherwise assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- High School Diploma required
- Associate Degree (or related business program preferred) or equivalent experience.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQURIED:
- Must have high level of interpersonal skills in order to handle a diverse customer base and sensitive and confidential situations.
- Ability to work in a team environment as well as self-motivated.
- Assist in identifying and providing solutions to complex customer issues.
- Work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple, competing tasks and demands.
- Learn and retain product information and complex processes.
- Create and execute a sales business plan.
- Utilize CRM and sales related business software effectively.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Position requires this candidate to work 45 hours per week in this full-time position.
- Must be able to work outside in different weather conditions and temperatures.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time and walk on uneven land.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds and climb, stoop, squat, push, pull and lift overhead.
- Smoke-free environment.
- Schedule includes weekends and holidays, flexibility is essential.
