JOB TITLE: Food Service Supervisors

JOB SUMMARY:
The Dietary Supervisor evaluates dietary staff on at least an annual basis, inspects kitchen daily to maintain required levels of cleanliness, Checks all refrigeration units weekly for storage of food items. The Dietary Supervisor oversees the production of all food served from the kitchen to patients, guests and hospital personnel as well as manages personnel through hiring and training, and conducts proper counseling and/or disciplinary action as needed
Qualifications
q At least two years-experience in an acute care facility or two years food service experience
q Associate of Arts Degree in Food Management, Dietetics, or related field preferred

q Plans, assigns and inspects the work of Food Service Staff.
q Schedules and assigns staff, prepares department payroll for data entry.
q Preform rounds prior to tray line to ensure the quality of the meal that is being served
q Check the silverware and serving utensils to ensure they are the proper size per the meal being served
q Check the refrigerators and the dish machine
q Supervises the storage and care of food and supplies.
q Oversees the cleaning of the kitchen, storage, dining areas, and equipment.
q Checks residents’ trays for consistency with specified menu and works on tray line at meal times.
q Charts dietetic progress for Residents at least quarterly to meet care plan goals, as required.
q Coordinates and plans food preparation activities for special events
q The Dietary Supervisor will oversee dietary staff, ensure timely delivery of quality food service with an emphasis on food safety and satisfaction.
q This role requires strong working adherence and knowledge of state regulation, sanitation, hygiene, quality food preparation, supervisory techniques, estimating requirements, purchasing food, and managing the kitchen and storeroom.
