Job Title: FUNDRAISING DIRECTOR

Job location: USA - Chicago

Reports to: Executive Director

JOB SUMMARY

The MedGlobal Director of Fundraising oversees and executes fundraising efforts focused on securing major gifts and cultivating relationships with individual donors. This role involves managing a team, developing fundraising strategies, and working closely with various departments to align efforts and achieve fundraising goals. The Director is also responsible for stewardship activities and ensuring the successful solicitation of major gifts through direct interactions and events.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Refine and implement the Fundraising strategy including multiple revenue streams - events, personal solicitation, mail, online (organic and paid) and matching gifts - as well as diversifying geographically and demographically.
  • Build and lead the fundraising team.
  • Direct efforts to identify, cultivate, solicit and steward current and potential major donors and donors of planned and legacy giving opportunities.
  • Assists in hosting various development and alumni events, such as homecoming, alumni weekend and donor cultivation and recognition events.
  • Work collaboratively with other departments to facilitate communications/marketing, reporting, financial management, research, and analysis.
  • Develop and report regularly against annual KPI’s and more refined metrics for use within the department.
  • Managing expenditures in accordance with the Annual Plan.
  • Frequent regional donor travel appointments and cultivation opportunities required by donors
  • CRM - manage systems and software to track and cultivate donors and prospects, including our donor database and wealth screening tools.
  • Acknowledge major donors through public and private recognition.
  • Develop and implement best-practices for major gift stewardship to ensure growth and frequency of giving.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field such as nonprofit management, business administration, or communications.
  • 10 years minimum proven experience in fundraising, particularly in major gifts solicitation and events planning, with a track record of securing significant donations. Minimum of 4 years in relevant managerial positions.
  • Strong leadership and management skills to recruit, train, and supervise a team of fundraising professionals.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, for engaging with donors and collaborating with internal teams.
  • Ability to travel frequently for donor appointments and cultivation opportunities.
  • Proficiency in using fundraising software and donor databases for tracking and managing donor relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to set and achieve fundraising goals, including securing major gifts at predetermined levels annually.
  • Experience in event planning and management, particularly in organizing donor cultivation and recognition events.
  • Familiarity with development operations, including reporting, research, and analysis, to support fundraising efforts.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills to develop effective fundraising strategies and stewardship practices.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with senior leadership, board members, volunteers, and other departments to align fundraising efforts and achieve organizational objectives.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to track progress using specific metrics for reporting purposes.
  • Commitment to the mission and values of MedGlobal and passion for humanitarian work.
  • Flexibility to perform other duties and special projects as assigned or directed.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $110,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
