What are the responsibilities and job description for the Insurance Verifier position at MedHQ?
The Insurance Verifier performs a variety of clerical tasks, as they relate to insurance recovery and the processing of patient claims for the efficient business operation of the Surgery Center. Accountable for the accuracy of information obtained for the processing of insurance claims for procedures done within the facility. Maintains a good working relationship with all insurance providers, patients, physicians and staff.
Responsibilities :
- Pulls surgery schedule daily and is responsible for completing insurance verification, verifying authorizations and completing patient financial counseling calls.
- Communicates regularly with Center staff to ensure that all patients have completed the financial pre-procedure process.
- Demonstrates the ability to effectively communicate with others, including physician offices, insurance companies, patients and others about insurance benefits and costs associated to procedures.
- Provides regular communication and feedback to supervisor.
- Demonstrates a clear understanding of regulations applicable to patient care and / or other center functions.
- Exhibits proficient knowledge of health plan benefits including deductibles, co-insurance, and co-pays.
- Maintains confidentiality of all center and patient information at all times.
- Speaks to and approaches others in a friendly and compassionate way.
