The Physician works independently, with the available support of a Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner and Medical Assistant. The environment is fast-paced and the position is multifaceted.
Medical Director Supervisory Requirements
- Review patient files in accordance with state guidelines;
- Oversees mid-level medical staff as assigned as well as nursing clinical staff
- Participates in quality improvement, management, continuing education, and other patient care programs established by Company.
- Assist Company with the development of the protocols and the delivery of staff training
- Provide input, medical direction, and support to Company;
- Facilitates referrals to other healthcare professionals and medical facilities as necessary and will communicate with collaborating physician and/ or specialist regarding patient’s care
- Participate in the provision and coordination of medical care at the Clinic;
- Advise and assist Company regarding the implementation of patient care policies and other general Clinic policies and procedures;
- Make educational presentations relating to weight loss;
- Advise Company concerning market issues and potential practice opportunities;
- Comply with and follow all lawful Company policies and procedures, as amended from time to time;
- Accurately maintain all records and preserve such records;
- Upon request, fully and accurately and accurately disclose to Company all matters pertaining to the affairs of Company, including all letters, accounts, writings, and other information, that may come into possession or to his/her attention;
- Participate in and assist with interviewing, hiring and evaluation of Clinic personnel.
- Assists in the resolution of complaints, requests, and inquiries from patients.
Medical Director Hourly Requirements
· Obtain and review patients’ medical and psychosocial history information relevant to patient care, review patient files in accordance with state guidelines.
· Conduct physical exams according to Medi-Weightloss® Guidelines; complete health history summary; document patients' progress; assist with patient care management.
· Order and review laboratory studies as well as diagnostic procedures; including ECGs. Repeat testing is to be conducted and managed according to the clinic Standard Operating Procedures and as needed.
· Conduct patient consultations and counsel patients for all visit types (New, Acute, Wellness, Adolescent, etc.);
· Review patient's progress and manage patient care accordingly.
· Document patient progress notes and treatment plans in the Electronic Medical Record, EMR;
· Assume responsibility for prescribing FDA approved appetite suppressants according to state and federal guidelines.
· Personally, meet with new patients and obtain informed consent for participation in the program.
· Assume responsibility for the maintenance and accuracy of medication records and state reporting requirements; Maintain all required documentation for patient care and medication management.
· Facilitate referrals to other healthcare professionals and medical facilities as necessary and will communicate with collaborating physician and/ or specialist regarding patient's care;
· Perform other clinical duties as required and needed to complete daily responsibilities and provide patient care; Accurately maintain all records and preserve such records.
