What are the responsibilities and job description for the NCS Communications Manager, Internal Communications position at Media Fusion?
- Oversees communication team and activities at NASA’s Armstrong Research Center and Ames Research Center in California
- Responsible for developing strategy for and management of internal communication service line across multiple NASA centers (employees are spread across several states and time zones)
- As a working manager, recommends, executes, and maintains communication strategies, plans, and message management processes with a focus on internal communication and written communication
- Responsible for review/copyedit of written materials before publication
- Responsible for client and employee relationships
- Recommends, executes, and maintains communication strategies, plans, and message management processes
- Contributes to the development of integrated communication plans and execution against those plans
- Responsible for communication research, strategy, planning, integration, execution, and key messaging goals and their measurement standards
- Recommends adjustments to communication strategies, plans, and key messages and executing accordingly
- Establishes and maintains relationships with appropriate NASA stakeholders, communications staff, and across functional areas to ensure effective and integrated communications
- Manages deliverables and ensuring quality assurance standards are met across functional requirements
- Directly supervises NCS employees
- Monitors and recommends emerging communications channels and practices
- Responsible for generating routing and/or ad-hoc reports
Salary Range: Approximately $115,000
- Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, writing, or other appropriate area of specialization from an accredited college or university
- Fifteen (15) years of relevant experience
- Exceptional AP style skills
- Advanced oral and written communications
- Advanced writing and editing
- Advanced problem-solving skills
- May be required to undergo a standard background check along with verification of education requirements

If required, employees must be able to operate a motor vehicle which may require sitting for prolonged periods of time to visit other company sites. This position may require an employee to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb or balance, reach, push, and pull. The employee may also be required to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
